Description

I think so anyway - based on larger overall size of leaves and capitula (the only way to tell for certain is do a chromosome count or DNA sequence). A "garden escape" one of the survivors of the past failed attempt to plant an alpine garden around the summit transmitter station buildings. Now sparingly naturalized. This plant I know was originally deliberately planted cf. the Raoulia glabra situation - http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations/8755680 - where the situation is not so clear cut.

The Anaphalioides has now almost died out, a few patches hang on along the northern side of the peak above the road.
