I retired after a 35-year career with the U.S. Forest Service as forester/watershed ecologist in Montana, Oregon, Mississippi, North Carolina, Louisiana, Washing D.C. and the Rocky Mountain Region of Wyoming, Colorado, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas. My second career was 17 years as Director of the Environmental Policy and Management Department at the University of Denver. While at D.U. I co-founded the non-profit International Education Corps and shared my experience and knowledge with universities, national park managers, and natural resource managers in Viet Nam, Namibia, South Africa, Peru, Brazil, Poland, Belize, Canada and Sweden. Following retirement again I'm now volunteering with Colorado Parks and Wildlife in the angler education program, as a host in Waterton Canyon of the South Platte River, Colorado Natural Area steward and transporting injured wildlife to rehabilitation facilities. I am a certified Native Plant Master and teach and participate in classes for people who want to learn about these plants, the problems of introduced and noxious plants.
