Barnstable Land Trust is a community-supported nonprofit whose mission is to preserve the natural resources and special places in the Town of Barnstable and nearby areas. With the support of the community, we have successfully protected over 1,100 acres in Barnstable since our organization formed in 1983. Our challenge going forward is to protect the most critical community landscapes and parcels left undeveloped. Our own priority mapping shows that there are about 2,500 acres in Barnstable critical for protection – for open space, water quality, recreation and habitat.
