Description

The remains of a beetle, seen in rainforest at Goomburra (Main Range National Park). The beetle would have been huge, but unfortunately most of it had turned to dust, leaving the pronotum with its orange flashes on green, and part of a green wing case. No jaws, but I think there's a leg. I haven't found an image of a jewel beetle with the same markings, but did find one a bit similar. Would love to have seen it alive!
