Description

Calicotis crucifera on the spores (sorus) at the back of a Staghorn Fern antler. The untidy tracks through the spores are caused by a type of grub that has inhabited this particular fern for a couple of decades.

A second moth disappeared while I got the camera out. I have seen a few of these moths on the spores over the last week.

The third photo is of the same Staghorn Fern taken the previous day.
