Description

This spider was found in around 23 degree C weather weaving its characteristic flat, circular web, directly under a paper wasp. It was found on an emergency telephone pole near ISA on campus. The species of spider was identified by the characteristic orange-brown cephalothorax and the rounded white orb with parallel grey markings on it. It was the only spider found when it was observed. It was found in a urban habitat (emergency phone pole) and due to its 2 body segments and eight legs, it can be classified in the arachnida class. It is found along the south coast of the Unites States, from Mexico to Florida.
