Arabic Volute (Alcithoe arabica)

Description

Lacks the pinched and pointed armor of A. arabica ss, but still very strong shells.
Was known as A. larochei but it seems has been relegated to another form of S arabica.
I'm never sure with this genus, there seem so many mid forms. Some taxonomist have taken the time to identify these as subspecies of something, then the lumpers have thrown them all together again. I give up! They are Volutes in my vocabulary, the whole lot of them. Sometimes 'common' names are just great!
