Description

This ragged seahare was found on a mat of mixed floating sargassum and algae in the surf line at Navarre Beach, Santa Rosa Co., FL. A few others were seen in the same area, all ranging in size from about 1 to 2.5 inches. When active, the animal showed many short ragged, branched appendanges along the sides of the body. Once disturbed, it exuded purple ink.

Any help with ID would be appreciated.
