On dead, standing Alnus incana about 7 feet off the ground.. Apothecia were very dark green, almost black, over 1cm in diameter, erumpent.
Common species in the area, but rarely excide 1cm.
Asci 8-spored, with croziers, * 34-42x4.6-5.6um.
