Description

New garden tick!

Plain shiny brown with beautiful mother-of-pearl lower sides and underparts - poorly captured in these pics, except the last. I completely missed his striking red tongue.
A nervous little snake (roughly 50 cm long), wouldn't settle in the hand, but made no attempt to bite. Completely harmless, nocturnal, frog, fish & tad hunters.
Interestingly, used his sharp little tail to poke at my hand when first caught - a la Forest Cobra and Stiletto snakes. Didn't know they did that.
