Description

These are Polar Bear skins hung out to dry in a native village at Gambell, St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. These are native American people of the Siberian Yupik tribe. One can see Russia from here.....really! The bears were killed just offshore of this location within the previous few days but I do not have the exact date they were killed.
