Description

Several individuals of the Lightning Whelk, Busycon pulleyi, were observed at Laguna Madre, near Corpus Christi, Texas.

The Texas State Shell is a common species in the bays and estuaries in Texas. Unlike most gastropods, it has a sinistral shell.
