Because roadkill is a global problem, we are collaborating with organizations globally to record roadkill observations as both evidence of a species occurrence and of wildlife-vehicle conflict. The Road Ecology Center is an academic-science entity, but we believe that collecting data about conservation issues like his is a critical service we can provide. We have spent 8 years developing and operating the California Roadkill Observation System, the 2nd largest system of its kind in the world (Belgium just keeps staying in front of us). We are using that experience to help at the global level and we appreciate your contributions to this important conservation concern.

Hi
Just discovered this.
We have our own project on this - https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/roadkill-s-afr which we feed directly to the southern African Endangered Wildlife Trust Roadkill project.
We will be incorporating a lot of data from an emigration of data from iSpot, so I am very reluctant to merge our projects. But please be aware of our project. (Perhaps which should ask for a subproject facility, whereby some projects automatically link to other projects).

Hi Tony
I work with Wendy Collinson at EWT and would share any data from our site with them. Thanks for contacting me.

Hi!
One of my records in Uruguay, of a Coendou spinosus at Cerro Largo, was included in your project but it wasn´t a road kill ... it was simply killed by the dogs of a gaucho.
Regards.
Ignacio
@igmi - you should be able to remove the project: next to the project is a cog: click on the cog and then remove the project.

hi :)
Sorry, it is maybe not the good spot for this comment but :
you just add one of my observation in your program however although i am not sure of the death, i am pretty sure it is not a roadkill. This street is a no-end road, almost no cars, and really slow. But there are a lot of domestic and ferals dogs in this area, i pretty sure it could be the dead cause. It is about the Tenrec ecaudatus.
Thank you !

https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/observations/95890153 added to your project despite the Note directly under the image that says "Dead on the ground in bushland. 2km from nearest road". Makes me wonder exactly what if any criteria you apply before harvesting or otherwise including records in your project.
Hi as a side project if someone is interested - I would like to add that I work for a train line and go through incident reports. The amount of animals being hit by trains daily is crazy. Here in Australia it is everything from cattle to sheep to kangaroos etc.
Hi Rachelle
Feel free to use this system to record your "railkill" observations too. Thanks

Hi,
My record of a Southern Brown Tree Frog on July 16 was listed here. It wasn't roadkill! It was simply very cold. It was very much ALIVE! Also it was found on a road in a national park where there is NO vehicle access.
Could this please be removed? Thanks.
Marianne
someone put a window collision Am Robin from april 22, 2024 into your project. Please remove this.
