California Sea Lion (Zalophus californianus)

Observer

andrewwaterhouse

Date

March 13, 2014

Place

pier 39 (Google, OSM)

Description

A different group of sea lions gathered in the docks off of pier 39. I wasn't sure whether to mark these as cultivated or not, since they're a tourist attraction of sorts, but my understanding is they selected the place of their own volition, and were just awarded protection.

Also located near Pillar Point was a common brush rabbit hiding in a den made in the brush. The bushes around there were full of rabbit-sized holes, indicated a possible warren?
