On deciduous bark. Crustose grey thallus. Abundant apothecia are lecanorine in appearance, with a grey thallus-coloured margin. Disk black, first flat then convex. Spores are blue-green, 1-septate, constricted at the septum, 8 per ascus, 10-14.5 x 6-8.1 microns, mean 12 x 6.9 um. The scale in some photos of spores is 1 micrometer per unit.
