bright looking yellow plant that is wild to new england.

With the threat of a heavy storm looming, I hiked up Great Blue Hill just to quickly check for hairstreaks and lo and behold I found the species I've been searching for. A single worn Oak Hairstreak was nectaring at milkweed near the top of the slope. This time I was sure it was not a just a Gray HS. Though one wing was badly torn, the 'W' on the other was unmistakable. I watched carefully, taking pictures, as it flew from flower to flower. Eventually I let it fly off as the rains began to fall. A very good day!
