(Heard, but rarely saw, many Bushtits & Chestnut-backed Chickadees feeding on oak flowers along this ridge trail.)

Only able to get one photo of this elusive creature (which included Hooded Merganser pair). I think I've got the right ID.
Very shy pair, but so gorgeous!
Many in sandy area and among grasses.
Lots of aggressive behavior among this gaggle. (I counted nine, but could have been more in pond area).
Saw three of them in different areas of pond.
Abundant along Creekside Trail. Reminded me of Milkmaids, but had light purple coloring, so am not sure. (Should have gotten a shot of their leaves, sorry.)
Most of these are dropping their petals now.
