Not sure what kind of puffball. I am not very knowledgable of the fungal world. I found this particular puffball at Quiroste which includes grasslands bordered by mixed conifer forests. This particular puffball seemed a little dried up and was just laying in the center of the trail. Could of been dropped or kicked onto the trail.

Indian Paintbrush is all over the state of Utah. It was my first time seeing it and this particular photo really captures the brilliant bright reds and pinks against the red rock.

Description

The Cosmic Ashtray can be found at the end of Red Breaks Canyon. We had to search around for it, Probably best to use exact coordinates and a topographical map to find. The rock in the middle is about 80 feet tall. Standing at the edge it feels as if you're standing at the top of a stadium. The tallest ledge drops about 100 feet. We were told you could climb into it, but it is hard to climb out. There is orange/red sand in the center that almost looks like water it is so fine. When we returned back into town and asked a few local adventurists how the Cosmic Ashtray was formed they said from wind. However, I don't think anyone is entirely sure how this geological wonder was formed. If anyone has a clue let me know!
