This orb weaver was found in one of the double ponds at Pepperwood. The pond was mostly dried up and surrounded by different types of grasses. The orb weaver's web was approximately 1' in diameter, and the spider itself was approximately 1.5" long and 1" side. Two others were found at the pond. One was within 2 sqft, and the other was about 20' across the pond. The body has a bright yellow and black pattern.

This grasshopper (cricket?) was found in one of the double ponds at Pepperwood. The environment was a damp grassy area. It is approximately 1.5" long with light brown coloring and dark brown spots.

There were six orange petals of this flower with brown speckles on the inside. The outer edges of the petals were beginning to fold outward towards the sky. Six stamens and one pistil protruded approximately 1" from the center of the flower. The end of the stamens were a bright red color. The flower's diameter was approximately 2". This flower grew on a stock protruding from the ground. 10 within 15 sqft were found with one on each stalk.
