City Nature Challenge 2024: Virginia Pinelands's Journal

Good morning,

I’ve tagged you in this post because you are a top identifier in the Virginia Pinelands area. We’re hoping you’ll participate in this year’s City Nature Challenge by helping go through the "Needs ID" observations for the Virginia Pinelands project by May 5. Over 60% of our observations still need an ID! It is top iNat identifiers like you that will help increase our number of species recorded and ensure that we have high-quality data.

Have observations that you haven't uploaded? It's not too late! You can still post observations made within the April 26-29 timeframe and have them count toward the challenge until May 5.

Hi folks,

The annual City Nature Challenge is getting ready to start (12:01 a.m. Friday!) and we need your help. Between Friday, April 26 and Monday, April 29, we need you to help us find as many species as possible using iNaturalist. All iNaturalist observations from Emporia, Franklin, Southampton and Sussex City/Counties will automatically be counted towards the Challenge.

I’ve tagged you in this post because you've made observations in the area and it's iNat observers like you who will push us ahead in number of of wildlife observations and species recorded in Virginia.

The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is an international effort for people to find and document what lives in communities across the globe. There are over 650 locations participating this year so it will be great to see what everyone finds!
